Well we've made improvements with law, you're not getting dragged out of your house and beaten for money are you? Till that happens regularly I think you can give a little more appreciation.

I wonder if third world people would slap you in the face for complaining about your country not being 100% perfect

      Yo Sauce,

Try not paying your taxes for a couple of years. Guys with guns WILL drag you out of your house, take your bank account, take your car, take everything you have.

They may not beat you (rodney king, but that will no doubt happen plenty when you get to prison.

I'm not from the USA, but my opinion is that you guys are doing WAY better than you were a couple of years ago. It will take a while for all of the problems that were created during the past few decades to be fixed. I think your new president has done a lot for your world image and seems to truly care about the average citizens of your country. Change in any form can be difficult, just give it some time to spring back. I think you guys are finally on the right track now and the world is starting to notice that too.

That's most of what the president has changed, the image of the United States, he hasn't actually changed much of the system, he's pretty much working within the same broken system.

Presuming "this country" is the USA, I'm unable to vote. This country has gone to shit a long time ago. The rich are getting richer and the propaganda has succeeded in dumbing down the masses, and doesn't look like it'll ever be overcome at any point in my life. (Look at how much poverty Russians endured before finally deciding to overthrow the monarchy.)

It's everyones fault that country is going down the drain. The people themselves usually can't form an opinion because of the brain washing that is happening all over the news, television, internet, etc. and the government is just as corupt as the people are nowadays. They usually (but most definately not all) are in it for some not-so-hard-earned cash and to enforce in what the consituents want, which is usally based on the brain washing that has occured. An extremely vicious cycle.

It was written long ago of democracy: it will survive until the voters realize that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury.

    We are there.

The USA and other developed nations are drowning in debt, mostly from entitlement programs.

The entire world is heading for a government debt crisis. It will be bad. There will be suffering not seen since WWII.

Speaking of the USA as a natural-born American citizen, I think yes, it is going down the tubes for a number of reasons.

It's important to note that we've, in many respects, been at or near the "top" for a long time now. We've forgotten what it's like to be really "hungry" in life. Apparently-new factors are now working against us, and most of us are, for one reason or another, not aware or are not caring enough to act.

Economically--The Asian countries (I have nothing against them, BTW), especially are going to be eating our lunches for several generations... This is largely due to the nature of global economics (they are hungry and willing, and we are used to over-eating and only taking on the best work, if we feel like it.) Most of them will work 12 hour days, 6 days a week just to put a modest meal on their modest tables a couple times a day... Meanwhile, WE have to have more and more...live in McMansions, have steak several times a week, drive cars the size of buses, and retire at an early age. So of course, the jobs are going to Asia (even as the stockholders make profit on this idea, quarter-over-quarter.) It is still working for my parents' generation, it might work for my own, but our grandchildren will be lucky if they aren't living in those crumbling McMansions burning heirloom furniture for heat...

Education-wise, we fall short as a whole. I worry what will happen when we have far fewer elligible teachers than are needed. It could be a downward-spiral.

We're starting wars all over the planet that aren't necessary and that we can't afford...

Life, on a global level is not necessarily a zero-sum game... If we each lived modestly and inspired others do the same, other people could survive and return the favor, and we could stem this issue of imbalance. I am not a proponent of communism or against rewarding merit in truly commensurate ways.

They catch monkeys in some parts of the world by putting bait in coconut shells...A monkey is attracted, reaches in and grabs the bait, clenches its fist and won't let go, even as it gets pulled into capture. Analagously, if we all studied this trap, we wouldn't get captured if we didn't clench stuff so tightly...

Life is a moving, accelerating target...

In any dynamic, changing system, there are highs, and lows. When there are inflated, artificial highs, perpetrated by ignorant, greedy fools, there are bound to be repercussions, and lows.

So we are facing a 'low' point in our economy. What we share, and what we shouldn't forget, is the belief in a Free society!!

People are angry, today, because some lost money, others lost jobs, and some lost their homes!! Nobody wants to believe that we screwed ourselves!!

We chose to take those mortgages, for homes that we knew we couldn't afford, but it seemed so easy! We applied for the credit cards, with OUTRAGEOUS interest rates, because we wanted the big screen, plasma t.v.s!!

Our banks are based on a system of implied value, and our confidence in our currency, is based on our National Pride!!

Like the Japanese, we need to realize that we were living a dream, based on bullshit, and promises, that the lenders couldn't fulfill!!

America is still the 'Dream' that it always was, it just needs our help to remember that dream, and be realistic, about it!!

  • spam_free

Well the USA has a $13,000,000,000,000 (trillion) national debt. The estimated population of the United States is 309,163,793 so each citizen's share of this debt is $43,608.65.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $4.10 billion per day since September 28, 2007

China owns a huge proportion of that debt. So yes you are fucked

    Comment Hidden ( show )

    • Jsmythe

We owe that debt to the Federal Reserve, a private bank, that creates currency, and lends it to the government, at interest!! We will NEVER be free of debt, with a foolish, and stupid system, like the Federal Reserve Bank.

Google Zietgeist, and watch the videos!!

If the government nationalized the Federal Reserve, and reversed the mistake of creating it, we would be much better off!! The Fed only serves as a profit source for rich white men!!

Oh yeah, brainwashing.. Lol I would like to tell you something about that. But, I'm not allowed to speak of such things. I'll get into HUGE trouble that I doubt any of you would understand.

    This of it this way..

Most of the people in this world are just sheep, abiding by the so called "laws" and what other people tell you, like the government. When they speak to a higher power than that.

While there are people who know the fuckin truth is out there. You just have to find it yourself. Or be guided into by another.

And if you don't believe it, then you'll never understand the truth.

I didni't know almost anything about the USA politics, and I usually don't like politics matters, but that thing really cought me XD

Form the video (and I didn't catch everything because of language matters) I don't think your country is going down, just using very drastic ways to go to the top. Whatever it is it seems it is so well planed and for so many years that it will happen almost anyway.
