Is this a sign of cancer??

So like, I decided to write this because I was too nervous to tell someone about it. Ok so, for a few months now, I've been constipated. I think my eating habits are pretty normal. I don't take any meds or anything. I thought it would get better if I drank more water and got more fiber. So that's what I started doing. But I don't think it helped. I noticed sometimes there was a little blood and I got scared. It always hurt when I "went" so I thought it was normal like a tear or scratch or something. It went on like this for the past few months. I've been trying to eat less junk food. (Not that I'm fat or anything. My bmi says my weight is normal for my height. I really don't eat too much and my blood pressure is really good. ) Well, today I went to the bathroom and I was uncomfortable. This time there was a whole lot of blood. I thought it was my period coming early but I could tell it wasn't. I looked online and found that this could be a sign of colon cancer. Should I see a doctor? I'm scared!

Go to a doctor, that isn't really a place you want to be bleeding. It might just be fissures or hemorrhoids, but it could be something serious. Who knows? If you get it checked out soon, you'll probably be fine.

Abnormal bowel movements can be a sign of cancer, but they're a sign of literally everything else, too. Don't self-diagnose over a symptom so vague (and probably external).

  • I am usually anti doctor and all about preventative medicine but if there is pain and blood when having a bowel movement it would be wise to get that looked at.

If you are having bloody feces, then it could mean there is a tear in your intestines.

Yeah, like thegypsysailor said, go see a doctor.

It could be a few things.
You say you are constipated. Sometimes very hard stool can actually cause tiny rips or tears in the anus causing blood to show.
Sometimes hemorrhoids (internal or external) bleed during hard pushing due to constipation.
Of course the worst possibility is colorectal cancer. If the blood is bright red it would most likely be rectal, anal or very low colon cancer. If the blood is dark and almost brown or brown, it would be colon cancer. If there is a change in the shape or consistency of your stool that is another warning sign,
The simple answer to all this is
    GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!!
A simple colonoscopy will tell you if you are OK and most likely you are, but get it done to know for sure and to stop your anxiety.

It could be polyp, or something like a sharp tortilla chip/ etc. that you ate could've made a hole somewhere in your digestive lining, but if it gets any worse I'd tell a doctor, he might make you get a colonoscopy (the thing where they put a camera up your ass to check). Never had one done, heard they suck but it's better safe than sorry.

It sounds like your tore yourself. I don't think it is cancer. I've been constipated so many times and have torn myself many more times and I don't have cancer. All it was was that I had candida overgrowth and my diet was bad. See a doctor if you are concerned.

Don`t think about diseases and do not make diagnosis by yourself. Go and see a doctor! Get better soon! :)

If it hurts, there's blood, and you have to push, you could have hemorrhoids that have burst. Try a stool softener so it's easier to go, use wet wipes to be gentler on your hiney so they heal. And see a doctor to be sure its nothing worse.
