I have a playlist i call the soundtrack of my life. so far it has 76 songs that are all me or represents periods in my life. it's hard too pick just one!
Poems anx songs by australian Comedian Tim Minchin. The lazy song, Teenagers and SING by My Chemical Romance, Iris by the GooGoo Dolls, Mad World by Gary Jules a number of Cage the rlephant song and Three Days Grace songs. =D
I had to think about this one. The first song that came to mind was "dazed and confused" by Led Zeppelin. I really like the mood (alienation, unease and longing, I think) and title, but the lyrics don't really apply to me except for the beginning ("Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true"). A better match is "Private Investigations" (Dire Straits) Such a beautiful song, contemplative, tacking stock of things, trying to make sense of life, I guess. And the conclusion: Scarred for life - no compensation.
I do not have a self-defining song, so I will instead list the one that I am listening to right now. Question by System of a Down.

I feel like I should be true to my city and pick something by The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Inspiral Carpets, The Happy Mondays, or James. I could find at least one by any of those bands, I'm going to be traitorous and pick something else.
Perfect Day, by Lou Reed came to mind. Mother, by John Lennon too. But I landed with a song that means everything to me because of the football team I gave my heart to. You'll Never Walk Alone. It's more a part of me (and my fellow fans) than anything else could ever be.

i noticed you also listed this as your favorite song in another post. i'd never heard it before, so i listened to it. and then i realized that i had sorta kinda heard it before; the black eyes peas sampled it in song a few years ago. anyway, i really like it. i just downloaded it. thanks for introducing me to a cool new song!
