Is there enough support out there for women who want to gain weight?

I'd love to know people's thoughts on this. Please vote and feel free to comment. I'm referring more to weight gain support for women but guys please feel free to contribute too (about support for women or men.) There seems to be a lot for men - there are lots of resources when it comes to muscle gain etc. With so much obesity around it's all about losing weight and I really feel that women who wish to and/or need to gain weight end up getting a bad rep. Most of the websites that help people with their weight are all about losing, if you Google gaining weight for women, you still get LOSING weight tips coming up. So many women are trying to lose weight these days (even when they don't need to!) If a woman says she wants to gain weight, then people don't really seem to understand and overweight people think it's silly or are offended by it! As in, how dare you, you skinny cow, why aren't you happy with your thin body etc. Personally, I'd like to put on a few pounds. I'm currently 125lbs and I used to be 135. I'm 5"6, so a little bit above the average of 5"4. I accidently lost weight through stress and not eating enough. I'd like to put on a few and be at least 130lbs. I know I'd feel healthier if I could gain the weight back. I still feel womanly but when I was 135, I felt more womanly. I know I've babbled on a bit but I think this topic needs more discussion! If anyone out there has had a similar experience, please feel free to share it. Thanks.

I think there's enough. 2
There isn't enough but it doesn't really matter. 4
There isn't enough, there should be more. 11
There isn't enough, should be more and I've struggled to gain weight. 3
Why would you want to gain weight?! 7

A healthy weight will use the same basic concepts for losing and gaining weight. It all comes down to nutrition. And don't use a website for help, talk to a nutritionist. If your diet is healthy an balanced, your body will take the shape it is meant to be. Some people are lean, while others are more robust. Both can be healthy.

There is, and it is called BACON.
My sister is 10 y old and she is struggling to gain a few pounds too. Her doctor told her to do it. And I have to lose a little weight... It is being much harder for me, really

I think there is help if you look for it i know there are over 9000 ways of getting help if you are fat and want to be skinny.

I don't think i have ever heard of a skinny farm.

Most of them aren't healthy, though, and many aren't possible for some people.

There's a girl at my work who's desperately trying to gain weight because her doctor told her she's underweight.

She cut the sugary drinks from her diet and replaced it with things like full cream milk and water and is eating lots of carbs, but no extra junk food.

I joke it'd be easier if I just gave her my extra 10 kilo's so I'd be the weight I want to be and she'd be the weight she needs to be lol. Scientists should invent that, the fat swapper.

I completely understand. I want to gain some weight too. I'm 5'4 and weigh 106pounds. I would like to be around 110. I think I would stop looking like a little girl if I gain those few pounds. But whatever I do I just don't gain any weight.

It's hard, isn't it?! I've found eating nuts helps in maintaining weight. Try eating some every day (hopefully you're not allergic....) Would it be possible for you to switch to using whole milk? Most people can gain some weight if they really try to - in a healthy way of course, not just by eating a load of junk. I wish there was more support, though and that it wasn't frowned upon (in the mainstream.) Metabolisms do tend to slow down as we get older so that will help!

I find that if I don't take as many dumps in the day I can retain weight. Too many power dumps and I get skinny:(
