Is there a way to get out of the friendzone? (i'm a woman)

I was at a street fair where I met an incredible guy working as a vendor but we only got to speak for literally 60 seconds and it was super awkward because it was just so busy.

I saw he's a friend of my friend's friend on Facebook so I added him and wrote him a brief message saying I was the girl at the fair. He acted excited and we texted later back and forth for a while. I know he's single.

Fast forward it's two months later we are still just friends and he's even said I'm glad we're friends and talks to me about his ex girlfriend and this cute girl in the apartment he lives in.

I'm really bummed and today I finally asked to meet up in person because all we do is text! We don't even talk on the phone. He said okay but also said he doesn't want to give me the wrong impression.

Literally this is what he sent:

"Yes! Let's meet up this weekend. It'll be fun! We can go hiking too if you want?? I know the perfect spot. Before we meet I just want you to know just in case that I hope I didn't give you the wrong impression. We're just friends right? Just making sure haha"

I really need to get out of the friendzone. I must've friendzoned myself with him somehow and I don't know how to get out of it. Not the first time I've done this. 😐

He was never interest to begin with.

Right now you're getting a reality check. Think about it, it's normal for us to friendzone a guy, but vice versa is unusual and strange; we start to feel like we're not hot enough or whatever, but in actuality this guy simply doesn't see you like that and that's okay.

Him talking about his ex, and girls he likes is a tactic women use often too (I'm sure you've used it once or twice, I know I have) to let the guy know we aren't interested in an indirect way.

You can either respect his feelings and move on or try hard by wearing tight clothes and make yourself look like a fool.

The friendzone doesn't exist. He's just your friend. Get your head out of your ass.

    • It exists in that I'm trying to let him give me a chance

He's made it clear he just wants to be friends. If he's already not interested, there's not a lot you can do to MAKE him love you. Just chill and enjoy your friendship. Don't make shit weird.

        • I'm not trying to make someone love me. I'm just wanting a chance to date even if only for a few days. I'm not asking for the world.

I always thought it was weird for some men to reject the possibility of sex with a new female acquaintance.

Usually that happens only when the woman is really unattractive, the man is gay, or he is one of those rare guys who has little or no problem finding hot women to have sex with.

I have noticed in my life that there seems to be little rhyme or reason to why certain people end up together.

I would give it time and try to draw closer to him. A lot of times giys will not start out with any intentions but if you guys are together long enough as friends you may be able to change his mind into more serious shit. Or if you just want sex you could just ask him outright. I don't know many guys who would say no.

Bottom line if he was sexually attracted to you this wouldn't even be an issue. Like the movie says He's Just Not That Into You

Getting out of the friend zone is never very easy. Best advice is to go to YouTube.com and search on "how to get out of the friendzone with a guy".

Sounds like you should've told him a long time ago that you wanted more. Maybe you can tell him when you go hiking?

Tell him "for now but who knows what the future will bring. Why limit our options?"

Thats just not going to change.

No, you fucked yourself. If you're interested in him you should have had met him in person earlier.

I'm no expert, but the phrase "We're just friends right? just making sure haha" sounds like he wants to be more. Just ask him.

    • Unfortunately after that I wrote yeah we're friends and he said good because he doesn't think of me as more than that and doesn't want to ruin our friendship. 🤷

It's really confusing. I'm not a narcissist but I know I'm decent looking as I have had many people compliment me and any guy I'm friends with has tried to get with me or told me I was gorgeous but this guy only calls me cute and adorable and doesn't flirt. Lol this is nuts right??? Out of all the men who like me and i dont like them, he's the only one who doesn't like me but I wish he would. Our conversations are also fun enough..i just don't get it.

Maybe you are just interesting person and he doesn't want to lose your friendship.

When I met my gf, we had fun long conversations. I don't remember talking so much to anybody. I started liking her but didn't want relationship to preserve friendship.

        Silly ho.
You think because someone else is attracted to you
then you must be attractive to ALL men?
I know what I like and what I dont.
Punks like trump think all women want him, cause he has money.
Some rappers think its all about dick size, and money.
You think because a few guys want you, all guys will.
Wake up. You think you are sitting on a pot of gold.
        Its just lead.

how about you "like back" the men who like you instead of being so picky and going after things you can't have

            • That's incredibly rude. Every time I date a man who is interested they've been jerks. I don't need drama in my life and to date assholes, you're clearly one of them
