If there is a war on Christmas, Christmas is winning.

No. It's whiny spoiled brats who don't have many actual problems to complain about deciding to create an enemy that suits their already bigotted minds.

    It's beyond retarded.

It’s bullshit. Each year they say there’s a war on Christmas. And each year it takes up more of the year. Hell around here they start selling Christmas stuff in October. The only time people have an issue is when people take the religious aspect and try to shove it in our face. Like having the nativity scene in public places which is something they aren’t aloud to do.

Bullshit made up by morons: ask him for evidence of this "war" and then stand back when he explodes with rage because there is no such evidence

It's a peculiarly American delusion, and part of the same mind-set that insists on believing there's a war on against middle-aged, white men.

You never hear about a "war on Christmas" in Britain - apart from occasional mentions in the more serious parts of the media, and then it comes under the general heading of, "Look and laugh at what the MAGA loons in the States are saying now...".

Some people like to feel persecuted, since it means there are faceless evil powers which consider them important enough to fight.

You could consider pointing out to your Alex Jones fan Dad that the only real war on Christmas that ever occurred on American soil was waged by a group he probably considers heroes. When the Taliban of their day, the Puritans, won the English Civil War against Charles I, they outlawed Christmas in England, and when the Puritans went on to found the Massachusetts Bay Colony, it was outlawed there too. From 1659 to 1681, anyone caught celebrating Christmas in the colony was fined five shillings. That was about two day's wages for a skilled craftsman, so it wasn't a trivial amount.

For many years after, anyone celebrating Christmas in New England was looked on with great suspicion, and the Puritan War on Christmas actually only ended in 1870 when Christmas was declared a federal holiday.

We have it here, somewhat. Usually the conservative talk radio bigots. They like to fearmonger amongst the stupid.

Seasonal drama is most welcomed here in the U.S. We get tired of school shootings, demonization of racial diversity, and the wealthy 1% distracting us with their glitzy advertising. Thanks for the blast from the past.

If you do shots everytime CNN uses the phrase "Breaking News" you'll be shit-faced by lunch, having your stomach pumped by three, and dialing an AA hotline by supper.

Yup. The Grinch stole Christmas lol. And the big corporations turned it into another money making extravaganza instead of a religious respected holiday. The birthday of Jesus Christ (may peace be upon him) is still contested by biblical theolgians and comparative religion experts alike who disprove the validity of the 25 of December being his date of birth.

There's no war on Christmas. It's everywhere right now: the stores, on people's houses, and even on their cars. Though I never quite found those reindeer antlers on cars attractive. Meh, it's their life. Lol

I think you could argue that the general public's attitude towards Christmas is gradually changing. MAYBE. But when you consider how much immigration from non Christian countries there is, and how things change naturally over time anyway, I think that would pretty much sum it up. Just a natural by-product of the march of time.

I certainly don't think there's a war - who would be fighting this war? Who is the puppet master? Everyone seems to hate Donald Trump, maybe he would be accused of this lol.
