My mom's friend, whose son is an investor in Switzerland, called my mom panicking saying the U.S. dollar is about to collapse (within 72 hours), to 1/10 of its value.
The us dollar is the worlds reserve currency. Even if it's not doing the greatest right now it's still not as susceptible to change as other currencies. The world is in a recession after covid, every countries currency is acting crappy.
If that happens be prepared for WW3. I doubt Washington is going to stand back and just allow these other governments to drop the petro dollar. Several people have done it in the past and they all died. Our dollar is backed by our military. Biden has honestly caused this by the amount of disrespect he spoke about the Saudi Royal Family. As much as people were mad at Trump for it he got along great with the royals and other dictators and they worked with him. The saudis were pissed about the election results and were calling it rigged.
Other countries are becoming less reliant on the US dollar. This is really, really good for the countries doing so, but incredibly negative for us.
Frankly, you can't blame them. Not only is it just good to be self reliant, but our last two presidents have been terrible. The fact that Biden and Trump are STILL our most likely candidates in 2024 is somewhat embarrassing on a international relations basis.
Yurp. There’s a new bank going of the Chinese currency and US isn’t invited. US is going to start an entirely electronic currency soon. Society is definitely crumbling.
