The yardstick keeps moving. You can be a racist just for waking up in the morning.

Words and phrases are not inherently racist unless the person using them intends for them to be so.

If he said in a mocking fashion because of the person he was talking too's race, then yes.

  • I chuckled too loudly at the very fact you used it as an option, for some reason I didn't expect it. Well played.

Imagine putting so much power into little phrases to a point it offends you.

"No way Jose" isn't derogatory. I think Latinos think it's even cool. Latinos think speedy Gonzales is really cool, for example, some would say that's racist.

I've seen white people get offended at those words even when it was said as a joke. I don't get why though. People have jokingly used the words Spic and Wetback at me and I just laughed that shit off. Words are only offensive if people give them that power. XD

The only times I've ever seen white people offended over "racist language" were white people being offended for other races.

It is used as a rhyme, not a slur. It's fine.

  • I can see how a Hispanic would suspect that's racist if it came from a white person who doesn't really understand how their tone affects how they're perceived

I don't see it as being racist.
