Is that really anthro?
So I was in this book group- the book series is Wings Of Fire by Tui T Sutherland.
I guess it makes sense that someone would think this, and I tried to make sense of SOMETHIG opposing it, rather than shouting nonsense and not giving examples like I see many people do.
Someone made a post-
“OK, so since the dragons in WOF can talk, which is a human characteristic and since we like the dragons that means we are all furries in a sense, even though they don't have any hair/fur at all. All it needs to be to qualify is that they have at least one human characteristic, and that we like these dragons too.”
And after thinking about this, I tried to come with something to counter it.
My response-
“Technically True, but their ability to talk is an ability to communicate among eachother, as birds can communicate with eachother. It’s Not like they can speak human.
And opposable thumbs isn’t necessarily a furry thing, like a bird has the ability to grab things as well and stand bipedal, but that does not make it anthro.
It was just an evolutionary thing to bring them to the point where they can communicate with eachother with more complexity, like for example, say on a different alien planet, life developed and evolved to be bipedal complex creatures, such as the typical aliens we’ve seen in movies. If someone was interested in even just researching these extraterrestrials, does that make them a furry because the aliens they picture have some human characteristics?”
I wanted to come here to know if I am even kinda right. I tried to put real examples into my response, but I do doubt myself some.
What do you people think of this, though?
