Is talking to yourself bad?

talk to myself constantly. And they arent just simple conversations because I am bored. Like I have arguments with myself that I never finish. I find that talking to myself helps me think, but I am worried that if I talk too much to myself that I will go insane or that I will ignore the world and live in my own world. Do you think I have taken my habit too far? I am scared to ask someone I personally know for help. So the comments would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Mama always said it’s ok to talk to yourself, and it’s ok to answer. However, if you say something and then ask “what did you say” then you have a problem.

Sometimes it's the only intelligent conversation I can have.

No nothing is wrong with that even tho my husband swears it is. I talk to myself all the time out loud especially when I am mad or trouble to sort my situation out. I do sometime get carried away and enjoy my own conversation, but afterward I feel better about my problem and I am okay it what you may say is my therapy.

Its Just thinking out loud. I find myself vocalizing my thoughts all the time, even having little conversations, then I stop myself because I realize that I am talking to myself, and the same can be achieved in the realm of my mind.

Well if you do it enough, you might become schizophrenic. How's that sound? For instance, you could take long naps while you're working, then be back in time to... do whatever, argue with yourself for dominance?

I talk to myself all the time. Sometimes I'm bored and just say stuff out loud to entertain myself. Other times it helps to say things out loud. I think it's totally normal, but then again, I do it : ) I think the fact that you're worried about not being normal is a sign you're in the clear! : )

This post is years old but yeah. It's normal. I do it, and my family always aims to embarrass me when they catch me. They don't like me very much though... And they think I am weird and crazy bitch with no friends.

its ok to talk to yourself but create a different person from your thoughts who tells you how good you are or what to do next this will boost your self-connfidence and never call yourself a bad person situations make a person to do bad things.

Almost everyone does it, very often in an attempt to solve problems they have. The only reason why people say that it isn't "normal" is because they want to use it's association with schizophrenia to hurt someone. Not that it has anything to do with schizophrenia in the slightest.

Are most of these talkings about what's good and what's bad? if yes then that's probably the Devil trying to make you do the bad things
