from oct 20 when bad something has happened.
I've uncle and mother that are half siblings and they always argue all the time Till he went too far by Swinging at mom (she didn't say if he hit her).
so is this a assault if he try to hit her?
if so, then should i report it to the police.

It is Aggravated Assault meaning that he was making gestures to threaten violence against her in such a way that she could reasonably believe she was in danger. This is assuming that he did not hit her but swung at her to do so.
I can appreciate your mindset here but she is the only one who can press charges in this case. I'd recommend she do so in future events because this behavior is probably not isolated.
What makes you think it wasn't an act of self defense? If you mother made an overt act that he perceived as threatening to his well being, he is permitted to defend himself from that action. So unless you were a witness, it will be a case of "he said - she said". It will depend on what evidence is available or remaining. If there are no visible injuries, probably nothing will happen.
Assault technically is making someone fear for their life
You should def report it though
