    Stupidity isn't contagious but people will try to become anything in order to fit in.

    Pack mentality and the desire to fit in may make people seem to catch stupidity as if it were a contagion, yes.

    No its not. It is not a disease and it can not spread. However if someone with a higher intelligence is around people of a lower one they will try and adapt. They will dumb down their speech and speaking so those of lower intelligence understand. If they are not challenged they will start losing their intelligence. They might actually drop to the level of those around them if not challenged at all.
