Is stretching important?

I know that stretching is really important! People seem to have very different views on warm up and stretching. Many people say you have to warm up as well as stretch before working out to prevent injury. Some say stretching really Causes injury (especially fixed stretching). There are so many muscles in our body all of us never even realize. Please somebody give me suggestions about this?

Yes when you stretch and drink lots of water it helps your body to heal itself so you don't have to do stupid shit like pay to go see the chiropractor for not stretching. I would know....

Few months back i was skipping stretching before exercise. But it cause me a lot. After that i was facing many problems like back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain etc.

Stretch often and stretch properly I recommend yoga, and cardio as well as strength training if this is a fitness question.

Stretching is really important, but it can be done incorrectly.

I'd like to know that too actually. I have awful back posture but whenever I stretch I just feel more pain so I'm not sure whether to do it or not.

I think, before exercise, stretching is good though. It warms up the muscles so you'll be less likely to feel pain the next day if you overwork them.
