It could be endometriosis and/or fibroids. You need to see a gyn doctor.

    Please pay attention to this:
an ultrasound DOES NOT pick up on scar tissue. So if you have endometriosis which is uterine tissue growing outside of the uterus in your abdominal cavity the ultrasound will come back as normal. you might not be producing enough hormone, or it could be someone in the brain. Please keep in mind that females over the age of 18 need to undergo regular vaginal exams, irregardless of whether or not they are virgins. It's a common misconception that if you are still a virgin then you don't need a vag exam.

    You need to:
    Get a pap exam
Have a blood test to check hormone levels
    Get an ultrasound
Get a salpingohysterogram that is a special x-ray of the uterus.
If the salpingohysterogram shows scar tissue, cysts, fibroids, etc. (remember that most of these are not picked up by an ultrasound), then you should have a laparoscopy done.

A laparoscopy is a surgical procedure when they go through the belly button and remove scarring, etc.

Also keep in mind that since an ultrasound doesn't pick up on over 90% of what could be wrong with your reproductive organ, you need to insist on additional testing as described above.

There are doctors who will tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you if the ultrasound comes back normal. They are in fact lying to you, just because an ultrasound comes back normal doesn't mean that you are ok.

PS: remember to have a HPV test, this is a virus that has been linked to cervical cancer. also if you have had a bladder infection the past that bacteria could have entered through the vagina and traveled up to the uterus and caused scarring. Just have all your tests done.

Lose weight. seriously. Make it a priority in your life. Eat well and exercise. Start meeting new people and working, or just become busy so you're not always thinking about food. The best way to satisfy food cravings is to heat complex carbs with protein, and to distract yourself from the rest of the goodies. That way your stomach is full and you don't overeat.

being too thin or too overweight can screw up your period. you need to get at a healthy weight. diet and exercise and then aunt flow will slowly start to come back, unfortunately.

  • Being overweight can cause periods to stop just as being too thin can as well.

Best thing is to see a doctor, they will be able to help you correctly.

You might have a hormone deficiency, Pcos or a combination of being overweight n stress. My advice: go see your medical doctor!! It's better to know n get treated than waiting for the unknown.

I went through the same thing. I'm not overweight, nor am I too thin. I don't know why my period stopped all of a sudden, I didn't have sex so that couldn't have been it. I think it may have been stress related, during that whole time, I was extremely stressed with classes, work and just thinking about my period problem. If your stressed, that could be it. Once I finally relaxed, I got my period back.
I'd say it's normal though, I know a couple of girls who went through the same thing. But if it's not stress-related, I'd suggest going to a doctor just to check on things.

Brooklyn is so right. I don't get my period often, but that's because I'm on the three month cycle and after a while you get slight spotting. However, there could be problem. You need to go to a doctor.

Could be poly cystic ovarian syndrome. You rarely get a period and it's a hormone imbalance. Go to your dr and ask for a bloodtest to rule this out and an ultrasound to see if there are cysts on your ovaries
