If someone is unintentionally being a jerk without realizing it are they still one? The only example I can think of is Sheldon from Big bang theory but I cant find a good clip of him being one.

Is someone that's in a coma still in a coma even if they aren't aware that they are?
Its really funny that you believe people in comas intended to be in a coma. There is no intent in this example. Either they are in the coma or they are out of the coma. There is no "They intended to be in a coma". One is Conditional and one is not Conditional.So this is a really idiotic example. A more reasonable comparison would be "If someone does bad believing they were doing good are they still bad people? or are they misguided"?
You could say that they are acting like a jerk, but they're not a jerk. Who you are depends a lot on your intent, so if you actively intend to be nice but lack the social skills to avoid acting mean, you're not a real jerk.
