I'd say that reality TV sadly reflects humans. We ARE a dumb specie and if one were to pick 10 random INN users and lock us all up in a house I can guarantee you that we all would be stupid enough to make fun entertainment on Television.

• That would be hilarious actually. I think that a lot of the reality shows are scripted to make them appear more dramatic.

Yeah some get a certain script that they have to stick to to create a lot of drama. And yeah! Though we'd have to avoid filling the house with super introverts ... Like one or two should be allowed at the most. My role would probably be the slut.

What did you end up discussing? As in, what conclusions did you all make? :)

I personally think it's quite worrying. I worry that it might have a bad effect on younger people, raising them to believe that a bunch of foul buffoons are "reality"; and even if they do appreciate that reality TV is actually massively unrealistic, then still, what sort of message does making these awful, shallow, stupid people famous and lauding them like that send? Is behaving like that *really* how to get ahead in life? To be "successful", which is certainly how they like to present it; success.

Funnily enough, most of today I'll be writing a massive rant about this, but in German.:P Haven't had a proper think about it, but that's my general feeling towards it. If I come up with anything decent, I might return.:) Massively interesting, though, and I think it'd make for very interesting debate.

Painfully, yes. That's how to be successful. Look around you, stupidity is extremely rewarding if you do it in the spotlights. Getting ahead in life depends on your aims. If you want to make a quick and easy buck and are offered a chance like this, then yes, it's how to get ahead in life. If you're looking for any sense of fulfillment, to feel you've achieved something noteworthy, then no. Then again, how many of us are lucky enough to achieve something noteworthy?

It is good. Though some of this show taught us how to judge other people. We can also learn from their experiences. And also many people really want to be in a reality tv show to prove themselves and show who really are. I have read an article about this here http://www.exploretalent.com/articles/people-fl... . Check it out guys.

I'll skip the reality tv part, I think cable tv is dying out slowly because of streaming services like Netflix cuz you get watch what you want when you want it, you don't have to drag your butt to the couch to watch a movie instead you just grab a bag of nachos and head straight to your room.

Bring back 'Passions'!!!

Obviously, it's not real. It's set up and edited and over dramatised. I guess it's cheaper to make?? I assume that's why there's so many of these shows where nothing actually happens, they just beat-up, close-up, hype up the most trivial shite.
I seriously think a lot of people don't watch television anymore because it's so rubbish.

It's the only "reality" in TV nowadays, amidst all the made-up nonsense.
