Is not normal to pass massive clots during menstruation?

This morning as well as yesterday morning, I've woken up to extremely heavy flows, passing huge "clots" or whatever you'd call them, both mornings they have literally filled the palm of my hand. I've been cramping, which I usually never do. Is it normal? Or should I see a doctor?

I've done it a few times in my life time. The first time was because soy was introduced in my diet. As for the other times, I can remember. I only asked a doctor about the first because it happened to me when I was a kid. I don't think it is normal. If I had some again, I still wouldn't see a doctor unless they were alternative, but that is just me. It can be caused by a hormonal imbalances (soy produces plant oestrogen). Medications can cause blood clots. Certain herbs can cause blood clots but these all have a coagulant propriety, if I'm not mistaken.

    • I'm still a virgin, so I don't think so. I'm only 19, so I'm kinda stressed out by this whole thing; especially since I've never bled so heavily before.

  • Does any of that sound fucking normal to you? No, its not normal! Go to a clinic or see an emergency gyneacologist immediately. Your condition may very well turn life threatening. I've been there.
