Is normal to aply double standard?

The people I live with are complaining because I listen to music at 50% wwhile I shower in the morning but they are waking me up each weakend with their television at 70% and more... why people are doing such double standard?

    I agree with JD777.
    There should be rules enforced, like during certain hours of the day, no noise is allowed.

    Time of day matters.
    Someone waking you up an hour or more early by playing loud music,
    That's concidering rude.
    But if you stay up late on weekends with music, it's not so bad.
    Since most people change schedules a little and stay up, then sleep in.

    • I actually stop playing music, I'm waiting to see if they stop or if they don't care. I just wanted to know if it was something common in general.

        Yeah, many people who have lived with roommates have similar stories. Not resolving issues can lead to the situation escalating and/or people moving out.
