No, that really doesn't sound normal. Perhaps, your ED's caused a hormonal imbalance?

It could or rather actually are hormones because when the EDs began the whole cycle stopped for a year when it came back it was so out of wack never got back to what it was before.

It would be a wise idea to go see a doctor. They can let you know what is best.

Cycles change. Cramps are (unfortunately) very normal. While it is likely there is nothing to be concerned about, your past of eating disorders is still concerning and important - have you had treatment?

Where i live eating disorders are unheard of (africa) and in terms of getting treatment there are no facilities so it's me my family and our family doctor who's just a general practitioner no eating disorder specialist here, only place to get help is the internet forums etc.

That is tough, I wish you the best. Even a GP is better than nothing, and I'm very glad to hear you have your family's support.

It's all fine. Periods do generally hurt some, and there are loads of ways to get rid of (at least most of) the pain.

Your fine, the cycle is fine, the cramps are normal. Although I would seriously recommend staying away from the eating disorders! They can affect much much more than just your period and you deserve better than that.

If you are unhappy with the way you look, see a nutritionist and a trainer. These are people that can help you get the body you want, while staying healthy. Dieting is fine but don't overdo it or you will have tons of problems!

    Lesson for today kids -moderation-

You're right eating disorders affect so many aspects of your life but it can be an addiction even worse than say alcoholism because you need to eat to live it's a daily struggle, alcoholism or drugs for example you steer clear of that stuff. moderation is key you can say that again

I got on a moderation kick yesterday because people seem to overdo the hell out of things! The only addiction I have is nicotine, but it has made me more conscious of the struggle people with addictions go through trying to quit!

What fertility issues? you have a period, thus fertile.

The cramps are normal. The cycles are normal.

You are fine, keep doing what you are doing. Stay strong and be healthy.

You can have a period and be infertile.

        ...

If she wasn't infertile before her period stopped, she won't suddenly become infertile.

I should have specified that I wasn't necessarily referring to this specific case (though I do still think it is relevant) as it is possible to menstruate yet be infertile. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

There are other underlying medical issues that can cause infertility (as both you and lc have gone into). An eating disorder (anorexia) led to concern for my cousin's fertility after her recovery, which is why I mention it here. I am more than ok to be corrected about this, if it is irrelevant or wrong, I'm just going on what I've known.

She doesn't know if she was fertile before. Many women have no idea of fertility issues until they're actually trying to have a baby and they find they can't get pregnant after months of trying.

...Unless she has had a STI for an extended period of time (and therefore developed PID) or has endometriosis (which is unbearably painful)...the chances are...she is fertile.

The reason she stopped getting her period was because of hormonal factors, which doesn't incapacitate one from physically bearing children. Most infertile people were not born infertile.
