Is my family normal?

We never celebrate holidays, eat take out on thanksgiving, argue all the time and see each other less than 10 times a year. this has been going on since I was 14, and im 20 now. Is this normal? our extended family doesn't do this and is relatively close, what is wrong with this family?

    Normal, but my family dont even bother calling to other family members. They say «why shold i call or i invite them they dont invite us or call us» .

      that sucks! best u can do is call them regardless and set up your own events, if you let other people be in charge of setting things up you're leaving your time and emotional investments in their hands, take it into your hands and keep trying my friend.

    My family tried getting together at Christmas and such but there was always resentment, hatred and alcohol fuelled violence that spoiled the festivities.
