If you really want to find out how gay he is, the next time your alone at your house and he tells you he wants to have sex with you - take him by the hand, take him to your bedroom, undress and get into bed. If he strips and joins you - he's gay, enjoy your evening. if he runs a mile - he's straight (he won't)

Friends are supposed to want to hang out for no particular reason, friends are supposed to tell and listen to secrets and have meaningful conversations, friends are supposed to care about each other, it's even normal for friends to image each other in the things they do such as style or taste in music, etc... The ONLY thing gay about the way you describe your friend is the blurting out part. I would continue being his best friend and if he ever crosses the line, take a step back and see what he actually wants.

i don't think he's necessarily gay. Friends are supposed tell each other their feelings and talk about their problems- it's like the definition of friendship. And obviously he wants to hang out with you...because you're friends (duh). And when he says he wants to have sex with you he might be kidding and he might not. it depends on his tone. It depends how he says that. Some friends can have such things as jokes, and people who think that's gay are just paranoid (or hiding something themselves).

However, if he's being serious about that... Well... I don't think it would be that good to ask face to face if he's gay/bi/straight. If that's the only gayish thing about him, then he's most probably just joking, and doesn't know it makes you uncomfortable.
