Is joining the military good if you have nothing?

I basically have a cat, no friends, and just lost my seasonal job(Which took a year to get). There are no jobs in my city and I hate the state I live in. So most people under a certain age have to wait years just to start work. Since there is that much competition.

I also have a bunch of DVD from HS but all my friends went to college. I am at the verge of being homeless and if unemployment dont take my claim I am pretty screwed. I have no love, and no family or children. I tend to be rather isolated since I can afford college since the government wont declare me independent till age 24 which means ill have 2 years of still not going to college and probably not finding a new jobs. Since its fucking impossible right now. My plan was to join the military get out move to Canada and take my cat with me. That or move to Texas which reportedly has a lot of jobs right now.

Whats worse is my family has all eventually come to hate me. I mean I understand why. I have failed them, I could not fix my parents marriage and it was my job to keep everyone together. I failed and now I must suffer. I was going to save a lot of the money too when I come back and start a business. I dont have much to lose.

A lot of articles say its not worth it and you dont get any real benefits. Is joining the military worth it when you really have not much to lose?

Come to Canada and join the army reserves..you will get almost automatic citizenship and our healthcare is a public service. I was in not for long though because of personal issues. You go once or twice a week for drills and stuff pretty fun after basic training. Plus in Canada you won't be ordered by Trump to kill anyone who isn't white or rich lol

    • I have no one to marry. Also you never tried to get into truck driving school. Otherwise you would know you have to have had a license for a long time for them to even consider teaching you.

If you believe in the job that you're doing in the military, if you believe in the military and their values, if you enjoy the military culture, the combat aspects of say the Army or Marines and you have a genuine desire to join and persevere through all of the bullshit along the way to be a member of the armed forces... then yes, it's worth it.

If you're doing it simply to fill a void or have a job it just have something to do... then it will kick your ass and make you miserable. Trust me, I've seen them drop like flies.

    • Well I like the idea of a military job, the comradely, the uniform and the type of occupation. I also use to do martial arts as a child, and I was really good at it. I tend to like having orders, and everyone being connected, and I will basically do anything to wear a uniform or dress up. I also kind of being pushed out of my current place and since I dont have any right to the property they can kick me out anytime they like. I was paying half my paycheck to home owner to live here. However I recently lost my seasonal occupation. I had a month and I probably going to have everything ready pretty soon. If I dont get unemployment and I dont have enough to rent a place I probably going to become homeless in the next week or so.
