Is it weird to wear wool hat on 80 degree spring day?

Sorry I'm posting this question again, I realize that I already have, but I didn't get enough responses last time. A friend of mine says it's normal and that many guys in Florida wear them for style even when it's 90. But I got a number of weird looks today at the store wearing it, and I didn't really see anyone else wearing one since it's 80 out. So I'm confused on this, and if the weird looks I got are not due to the hat, then what are they for? Please don't say I'm imagining it, I know what I see, I can record them on my phone and post it online next time I get weird looks if any of you are gonna go there with the imagining thing. Check the box too on your opinion on the wool hat on 80 degree day on May 1.

    Just wear whatever the hell you want. These people aren't going to beat you up or anything like that. Their stares aren't important.

    I wouldn't wear fall or winter stuff on a spring day I would dress comfortable

    lol. wear it until people keep looking and smiling. i would not go to the store naked. but i would go to the store wearing a vest, sadly enough. everyone stares when you wear a vest at the place i work.

    If your friends told you down parkas and long johns were cool to wear in Florida when it's 80 degrees would you do it? Stop trying so hard to be "cool" and try being yourself.

    Focus on shit that's much more meaningful.

      No kidding, why has there been like 3 posts in the last month on this about the wool hat in warm weather now? Personally, I'm quite sure that the weird looks he's getting definitely are from him wearing the hat. It is weird, I rarely see anyone wearing one when it's 80. And I don't know where his friend picked up that bullshit about so many guys in Florida wearing wool hats in the heat, I've been to Florida and I sure don't recall seeing anyone in a wool hat there.

      I shower every day and don't put the hat on if my head has already spent a day sweating, and I wash the hat too.

      I didn't think the wool hat thing was weird because my friend told me it's a cool style guys wear in Florida, even when hot. But after getting weird looks though, I knew something is causing them. But, 80 degrees isn't that hot.

        80 degrees is hot for wool. Wear a cotton taqiyah and if you do, consider a matching bulletproof vest.
