Is it weird that when i like someone i’m mean?

I’m 28 years old, and I have been told numerous times that I am mean by guys I’m interested in. It’s kind of true! I get very nervous and will walk past them and not say a word. Or when they come to talk to me I say things that would make someone feel I don’t want them around. I honestly do not know what to do. I’m very shy around someone I’m interested in. I cannot help it!

    Well i've never been mean but I usually come off as stand-offish and keeping them at a distance but that's just my extreme shyness. I once had a huuge crush on a co-worker at a new job and he actually flirted with me numerous times and left his own station just go go spend time with me helping me out with things etc. for no reason yet I absolutely never flirted back in the slightest and was very cold to him.
    It's annoying af. I'm the same if i'm going out with someone, takes me forever to let my guard down.

    I’m normal a very crass with everyone except someone I like. I have to force myself to be kind. It’s painful.

    Idk how you can fix it but for me thats the biggest turnoff when a girl is cold like that. Idk how many guys are like that but a lot of guys probably get turned off by it. I feel like black girls do this alot.
