Is it weird that i'm reliant on my imaginary relationships?

I recently realised how reliant I am on my imaginary relationships. Whether it's my girlfriend, my boyfriend, or friends.

I'm with them all the time. Without them, I'd probably never leave my bed.

Heck, I can't even get to sleep without my imaginary boyfriend.

I always thought I was an introvert. But now that I think about it, I might be an extrovert with anxiety.

I have a picture of Oscar Wilde in my room. He is my imaginary friend. I talk to him, I pretend we are friends. He gets me through the rough times.

I've never had an imaginary friend, because I can't force a daydream, or fantasy into existence. I mostly talked to my pets when I was lonely. Before we got my first dog when I was seven years old I used to catch crickets, and talk to them. I also enjoyed talking to spiders, and grasshoppers.

  • Gad, I never had an imaginary friend. I just couldn't imagine myself sitting in my room talking to air.

You're not living in reality. The way you are living is not good for you.

They would not be attracted to people irl so this sort of just fills in for that

It doesn't matter, it's just a waste, and it's not real.

Same can be said about religion, tv shows, and novels.

It would depend on the individual, and his, or relationship to those things. OP says he, or she is reliant on imaginary friends, which sounds rather troubling.

  • When I was young I had an imaginary girl friend. She was dead, kind of like a ghost or zombie without all the gore. She would come in my room and into my bed every night, she would root me, it was good.
