Is it weird or normal that i startle awake like that in my dream?

Ok so this has happened to me a couple times or so,heres an example: i had a dream once where i was driving and i was driving real fast like driving away from something then i would swerve into a building or a brick wall and id wake up and like kinda startle myself , like those dreams where your not in a deep sleep but you startle awake and kinda shake or freak out like you actually ran into something.. It feels so real.., also i had another dream like that but on a rollercoaster and the coaster ran off track and i totally freaked when i woke up.

    I'll be drifting to sleep, thinking about my day and remembering when i tripped or something, and will jump awake to catch myself.

    I had a dream a spider was crawling inside my mouth once. I woke up, thinking it was totally real, and freaked out like a crazy mother fucker. Scared the shit out of my girlfriend - she woke up to me screaming and spitting all over her. Interesting night.
