Is it truel coffins had tubes attached to them

I have heard Coffins used to be built with holes in them, attached to six feet of copper tubing and a bell. The tubing would allow air for victims buried under the mistaken impression they were dead.

Before embalming became the norm people were sometimes buried alive and so a way was left for them to signal they were alive if this happened.

Yep, absolutely. I've never seen the show, but they even made a TV series called, "Saved by the bell". I suppose it's a series of different cases of a not dead buried person being "Saved by the bell".

In olden days the had a bell attached to the top of the coffin with a string running into the coffin to warn if not dead

This reminds me of the time my dad watched Kill Bill.

I don't think this was ever a common practice, but it's been done.
