Is it true a guy likes a girl if he teases her?

I have a lot of guy friends but most of them turned out to be into me but throughout our friendship, they always liked to tease me. Also just in general, when I meet someone new, eventually they began to mock me or mess with me and they won't stop! It gets annoying but then they just say they're just playing and I'm funny and so on. My boyfriend loves to tease me especially in the beginning when we were dating. He would always bring up things Id say and that he'll never forget about me. To this day, he'll still bring them up and we joke a lot. I've also noticed with other people I observe. I notice some guys will tease just this one girl and she's pretty and different and they just like messing with her but at the end of the day, I think they just enjoy having her around or hitting on her. Plus when I see a guy teasing or messing with a girl, there's this genuine smile or grin on his face and spark in his eyes. I think it's cute but idk if it is true.

Depends on the person, personality, and the skill of the teaser

Even if a guy is trying to be cute but come of mean or dumb. Its a skill that is honed and gaged from instinct and experience what is acceptable & what is rude or annoying

Im a huge tease, whether it just with friends and family or love interest or even strangers, but its easy to overstep if you become over zealous in ur attempt to entertain

    • Yeah some guys are just plain dicks! I remember getting picked on a lot in middle school by these two particular boys. One was just mean. He always looked mad and was rude to others. The other one tho was more likable by the crowd but he would be a clown or dick to others including me. He was a little more civilized than the other one meaning, I wouldn't be THAT shocked it was cause he thought I was cute at the end of the day since he had that smile/grin whenever he would tease me. But now being in my early twenties and dealing w more mature pple, so far all the guys that usually pick on me have a crush on me. So I guess its not all that bad if you get picked on, as a girl....as a guy not sure of this applies too. Idk many girls who pick on their crushes.

Yeah, I'd say it's true. I think some guys probably don't know how to express themselves in the right way so they tease a girl to get her attention. As a guy, I never really understood it though because I'd rather just be upfront with people.

Teasing is a way of taking someone a step down or trying to.
Teasing is not as bad as bullying but it can be if it gets out of control.

There's probably a 50/50 split in school on teasing someone you like or someone you want to annoy.

When guys are presented with a pretty girl (you mentioned pretty and I'm also going to assume you were pretty in school) they can feel the girl is too good for them. By teasing the girl and having her react to it, they feel the girl may be more on their level to approach. Think of it as boys who don't really know what to do in front of you. :)

Some girls do get teased in a bad way too. This can be from guys or other girls. Again the teasing starts to try to notch the person down a step, once that person reacts to the teasing it may escalate to bullying or harassing. Many girls who have left school say they were teased in school and cried most nights :(

So its not true that a guy likes you if he teases you. Although a pretty girl may be teased for good reasons rather than bad. I'd therefore answer maybe ;)

My friend, who's a girl, got constantly harrassed and bullied by this one guy in high school to the point where it completely destroyed her self esteem. She vehemently hates the guy, turns out he had a crush on her all along. It's relatively normal if done in a playful manner but a bit counterproductive otherwise.

    I think its possible..
This guy would argue/tease me back in high school fo having chicken legs and people thought we liked eachother. I thought his insults were funny&true and id always have comebacks for them.
Im not sure if he liked me or not I heard it ALOT but I was too into getting good grades to care.
