Is it too late to ask a girl out after a year?

2 nights in a row now I've dreamed about this girl I last saw a year ago. She used to work next to my workplace. I liked her really really really much but she was just too young (about 4 years younger), materialistic and played hard to get. You know how 20 year olds are. I got her number, texted very little but then I realized what I liked about her was just her appearance, voice, and charm. Nothing else. At that time it had been a few months since my last relationship which was more "physical" than anything else. I wanted something a little more meaningful next and so when I realized it was a superficial infatuation with her I deleted her number and moved on. A few months later. I even got a new job and moved away. Out of sight, out of mind.

But now because of these dreams I am flustered at the same intensity as I was a year ago. Why? What did I do to deserve this? -_-

I will let this feeling marinate for a few days before acting, but I have the urge to go to her work, ask her out in front of her colleagues (something I would NEVER do in front of others) and regardless of what happens I will get her out if my system.

Is it too late though? Is it a bad idea?
