Is it time for mourning or celebrating?

When you leave a relationship out of which you got nothing except disrespect, lack of consideration, selfishness, is it supposed to be a moment of happiness for having gotten rid of someone who treated you badly, or a moment of sadness because the relationship is over and you realized a little too late that it was all based on lies and deceit and you wasted your time and love away?

Realistically, it'll probably be a mix of both due to the feelings involved and I don't think many people can just flip a switch and instantly celebrate without feeling sad at all unless the feelings left a long time ago. Still, I think 100% celebration is ideal since then you're doing yourself a favor by standing up for your right to respect.

Mourn when you feel like it and go out celebrate that you are now free to flirt and date all the cuties that are out there! ;D

If a great burden has been lifted then it normally makes you happy.

It's hard to just feel okay when someone who was a big part of your life just leaves the picture like that. Even if they weren't right for you, I think most people would mourn a little bit. Then later when you've gotten over the sad period, you get the feeling of "what was I thinking?? Shouldn't have lasted as long as it did!"
