Is it possible to restore detroit to its former glory?

Recently saw a documentary about Detroit and the role it played in the american car industry. Back in the 40s and 50s, Detroit was one of the absolute greatest cities in America. Now it is the laughing stock of the world. Could that city possibly ever be restored to its former glory? Is there something we could possibly do to make that happen? Looking at the city today, you can still see the former greatness it had, but in ruins, which is incredibly sad.

      I can only blame the working class and unions for keeping these do nothing democrats in office. They say they are going on fuck you over yet are surprised when they fuck you over, and then make the brilliant idea of voting for the same side for 50 years.

      Just because republicans are racist... idk how are those urban schools look in cities run by democrat mayors in democrat states? Not well? Oh well maybe change how you vote?

    It's possible. Our dumb politicians shipped a lot of jobs overseas. If someone like Elon comes in to town, things could change quickly.

      Only the big cities are shitholes mainly because the mayors dont have competition anymore so they dont change anything.

      I wouldn't say that. I love living in America. Also, different parts of the US vary a lot from others. Personally, I think the Midwest (where I live) is a great place to live and wouldn't have it any other way.

    It is not possible just as it not possible to save the country because there are so many people who just do not care about anything except them selves and even there they are happy with only the very basics being given to then and not wanting to contribute to the beauty and usefulness of life in general. We are doomed to continue the downward spiral into oblivion. I am glad I will not be around to watch us hit bottom.

    I think L.A and San Francisco has passed Detroit in the Ghetto sewer of the world category. 65% of the US vagrants are in L.A. and San Francisco. Because the Corruptifornia government has given them whatever they want. Even to providing them their drugs so that they will stay put and not wander around.

    Only if you completely remove every board official and politician and come back with a clean slate of new politicians and policies.

    That and having a primary industry that makes people want to live in Detroit.

    Pretty much you got to start from scratch.
