Is it possible to confuse thought for physical voice under adrenaline?

I was wondering if it's possible to think something, let's say mimicking what they might say, and confuse it for them actually saying it if your brain is producing extra chemicals like adrenaline, or even endorphins and anything else like that.

I ask because when an acquaintance said they said they would be on their way to deliver a package to me early this morning, I told them I would be waiting for them.

Unfortunately, four minutes passed until I had read the text. I needed to put my shoes on and he called me, I told him I'll be right there.

I saw he was waiting by the time I got out, so I decided to run since he said something about needing to be fast because of work. I swear as I drew near I heard him say, "wow, he's running."

For personal reasons which I'm at least semi-aware of, there's a good chance I would/could have thought he would say something like that, or even as far as imagining the scene play out in my head like a play, like being able to see it omniciously. For personal reasons, I fear I might have developed, let's say adverse side effects of my brain producing hormones which really control my mood and behavior.

This can be good when I try to be positive, be grateful for things. I've been working on my empathy with other people and I see progress with some but not everyone gives it back to me.

There are some people at work who aren't nice all the time, some even outright disrespect me. It's getting a little better but worse at the same time.

I could go into greater details in comments if desired. On a final note, I'm looking for a psychological based response.

I've never heard something like this so it's hard to say. People, including myself, will tell you sometimes they hear their name called when no one else did.

I feel it's normal though. Just your mind having a virtual conversation and mistaking it for being real
