Is it police brutality or criminal stupidity???

Another person killed by police in the US. It seems to me that most of these people killed by police did something to cause the situation with police to get worse. But at the same time I don't want the cops to feel like they can just kill anyone that annoys them. Seems if people did ALL three of these things, most of these killings wouldn't have happened - 1) Don't be a criminal, 2) Don't make a cop feel threatened, and 3) Don't resist arrest.

Which do you think is the problem in most of these sad events:

The person killed caused the situation to become deadly 3
Cops are out of control in general 5
Both the victim and cops are wrong 4

Is this about a criminal that ran from an officer who then emptied an entire mag into the kids back?

Obviously the kid shouldn't have run but the cops action was disgusting and should be hung from his neck till his feet quit kicking.

    Acab.

    • No, this post is about all of the more recent events taken as a group and if there is a pattern here.

Police brutality is nothing new, it's just getting more attention from the media right now. For some the attention invalidates the issue and others react emotionally. Police brutality is definitely an issue that can get out of hand and needs to be addressed, and it may well be headed in that direction. However everyone needs to look at the situation rationally and unbiased. I personally am still trying to figure out wtf is going on. I kind of feel like the media is purposely trying to create a division between people.

People that ask this question, and that say "don't do illegal shit and u won't get fucked up-" have obviously never been on the receiving end of our justice system. A system that doesn't cRe about guilt or innocence. Just money and power. It's become a huge business building prisons and keeping people locked up in this country, it's disgusting. And it doesn't matter how stressful it is to be a cop. You go into that job knowing the shit ur gonna face. If u don't have the gump to be an honorable and just arm of the law, then you deserve much worse than the things you unthinkingly people to. The enforcement of justice is a high stakes game. They just never lose and are never accountable to ANYONE. With how many wrongfully convicted people that Re in jail now and that have been exhonerated by DNA evidence.... It shows the sheer staggering weight of this problem. Over a million people wrongfully imprisioned. And over THREE million handed harsher sentences just to fill prison space so states get more money from the Feds.

Which means you don't have to do anything illegal to end up on the wrong sideof the law. Literally, wring place wrong time can fuck you up a wall for the rest of your life. That's why I NEVER call the cops. I always deal with shit myself and leave before the show up. And by no means do I advocate being a vigilante, but you don't let people get away with shit they shouldn't, and cops are worthless and cause more trouble than they fix in most cases. Shooting people's dogs, macing little kids in the face, throwing flash bangs in an Infants face, shooting and killing a man and planting a weapon on him (shit we ALL thought was BS till someone caught it on tape) it makes u wonder how many of these people are/were telling the truth about being set up by the cops

All I know is that it must suck and be stressful as hell to be a policeman. You go to work, not knowing if you will die. You have to be suspicious all day of literally everyone around you in order to stay aware and keep yourself safe; and to top it all off, you have to keep others safe too.

That's a shit load of stress that could turn into a shit load of anger really quick.

The US has more guns than people now.

Until this has changed, police brutality will not improve. It is one of the most important, if not THE most important factor, in my view.

Not enough information to go on.

We so rarely get the straight story, that I don't think it is possible for anyone not involved to have enough information for an informed opinion.
Even when it's a black officer killing a black, everybody is way over the line emotionally. The community is stirred into a frenzy by activists long before any investigation has come to a conclusion. What may be seen in a video, is not ALL that may have transpired.
Therefor, I just don't have an opinion on most of these incidents.
