Is it nornal not to desire sex after taking an antidepressant?

I have a rather unusual sitiuation. I'm a female who is over 30 who hasn't had sex. I've dated, and I used to want to experience sex all the time, but I couldn't get a guy that I was dating/in a relationship with to take my virginity. Recently, I was diagnosed with depression, and I've been put on an antidepressant. Although I'm not in a dating anyone at the moment, I've completely lost my sex drive and feel completely "numb". I'm afraid that as long as I'm on this drug that I'll never want to have/experience sex anymore. Does anyone know if this side effect of antidepressants are normal?

An unfortunate side effect of some antidepressants is that they can kill your sex drive. Talk to your doctor about it. Maybe they can reduce your dosage or try another that might not have that effect.

Same thing happened to me while I was on this one kind of antidepressant. Now I'm on another kind and sex drive is back to normal :) It may take some time to find the right kind for you, not every kind works for everyone
