    That bitch!

Everyone knows that after the age of 40 is reached, people are supposed to pick a coffin and make their way towards the cemetery.

Why wouldn't a woman have her first child at forty or after?? There's no law against it and at forty most woman are still perfectly capable of bearing a child without fertility treatment. I thought that everybody knew that!

Well at 40 the risk of a chromosomal birth defect (Like down syndrome) goes to 1 in 100. At 45 it is 1 in 30. So that would be a reason not to...

      I like your comments. :)

But why not try to attempt it?

My mother was 36 years old when she had me and my TWIN brother. She kept trying at it and guess what she had us two. :) Of course she did have a few miscarrages a long the way but her positive attitude made it the best. Also my dad was 40 years old when she had us; I see no problem what so ever.

My Mom had her third at 43. No fertility treatments or drugs, none of that shit. Don't tell me that shit isn't possible and that women don't wait this long to have kids. Normal.

My friends mom didn't have her till she was 40, it is definitely possible. Plus she has twin younger siblings.

Yes, it's possible. I'm my mother's 3rd child and she had me and my twin at 40.

Why not? Sure the risks are a little higher, but with today's technology, a 40 year old woman is still likely to have a perfectly healthy baby.

Um, no. Only if she has had problems with it. If it is from lack of opportunity it shouldn't be an issue as long as she hasn't hit menopause.

I'm sure it's a natural urge, but she would do well to adopt, I think. Fertility treatments have the risk of ending up with sextuplets or something like that, which would be problematic for a woman in her 40s. And trying to conceive naturally at that age is just asking for Down Syndrome or something else.

Yes! Speak with your doctor and made certain that you are healthy. Also, you may want to have an amniocentesis to make certain the baby is healthy.

    Good luck!

a women can have kids at any age when they are old i have heard of one who was 80 years old and had her first kid and the kid was healthy like any other kid so the old ass ladies can still have kids not just a 40 year old.

Actually, people are starting to have children later these days. I think it has something to do with people, who have lately, not even been settling down until later in their lives.

Theres nothing wrong with it. And before, they were saying that women who have babies when their older, risk having a baby with more health problems... but just recently, a study showed that researchers are now saying that isn't always the case, and that there wasn't enough women in the past who were having babies later in their lives to determine that study as being correct or not.

It wasn't too long ago when I saw on the news a lady who was pregnant in her 60's.

If you really want a baby right now, speak with your doctor to see if its possible.

Why don't you go to a doctor and get checked up to see if you're still okay to have children? Clock's ticking.

In case you did not realize some women can give birth at age 40. My aunt had a child when she was in her 40s. This question shows how ignorant you are. Though most women can no longer give birth at 40 it is possible for some. So to assume this is impossible is wrong. Sometimes it will mean they have some complications in some cases but not all. Depends on the female really. That and how futile her husband/man is.
