Is it normal words don't have any emotional meaning to me.

To me words are nothing more than auditory sounds or a series of symbols. They don't seem to hold emotional meaning to me like how some people seem to be affected by words such as love or kill. I am affected by action but do not understand the emotional attachment to a word.

Words may consist of just a series of symbols and signs. Nevertheless the importance of words comes from their meaning. It is the meaning that matters. For example if someone says that I am worthless I am upset not because they made certain sounds, but because they think that I'm worthless.

Words convey information and feelings and these are what affect people. Take another example, if you're at work or school and whoever lives with you phoned you up and told you that your dog had died. You would be upset, not because someone said the words "your dog died", but because you dog has died. Here the emotion comes from the information, not the words that carried it.

I'm jealous because I'm the opposite - I let words affect me way too much. We should trade.
