Is it normal when a guy says he's damaged goods?

I just texted my fwb accidently by saying I'm like so happy with him and that I like this feeling. He told me to be careful because he's damaged goods. I don't know what this means or if he's rejecting me. We're fwbs and we've met each others families and we see each other at work and stuff. My friends know all about him and his friends know all about me. We date and do stuff much like a couple but neither of us are ready for a serious relationship just yet. I like this casual relationship but idk if he feels like I want more. I do want to express my feelings more and be more lovey dovey with him but I'm not sure if he really wants to since he says he's damaged goods. Is this normal or what does this mean? He's been cheated on before so idk if he's just being protective or what.

It means his penis was mangled in some sort of accident. Possibly a bear attack.

Honest answer? It sounds like he's more tied into the FWB attitude than you are and he's perhaps concerned that this is turning into a more conventional relationship. For reasons best known to himself he's either unable to deal with this, or has traditionally found it difficult to deal with.

People can be damaged, even men. It's more normal to be damaged by love than to not be hurt by it. Unless your lucky. Of course, damaged good's is a good excuse to slow a relationship. It's hard to tell when someone says that. It could be that someone literally bashed his junk, it happens. Bears do it to us all the time.

I agree and if he is warning you he is damaged goods, you better listen. Either that or he is not ready for a relationship that you want. Back off and if he really cares at all he will come to you. But find out what he really means by this comment. Believe me it is horrible to find out secrets after marriage. Kills a relationship real fast.

Damaged goods = excuse to fuck with no strings attached. If someone wants to be with a certain person...they will. There is no stopping that. If they don't...they shit out an excuse like you've written here. Move on.

The only reason you want him is because you can't have him. Human nature.

Damaged goods means that you had a relationship that you got fucked over bad by a woman and that you're very leery of it so he may be jealous he may be scared of certain things just be careful okay

He just wants to stay fwb. I use that line when I don't want girls to start liking me, to push them away a bit. I'd either cut it off before you get hurt or keep it up and push whatever feelings you have aside cause they're not gonna happen.

Exactly. He's clearly telling you that he wants NOTHING MORE with you than FWB relationship. Don't play yourself and catch feelings, you'll be sorry.
