Is it normal weed world

Is it normal that after smoking weed I still felt the effects of the drug a month after doing it? I had strained eyes and memory loss for two weeks straight.

(Note: This was a few months ago now. I've recovered.)

It might effect my experience, so I should probably state that I am epileptic. So, IIN?

I honestly don't think it was from the weed.

I have never heard of the effects of marijuana lasting that long. Maybe you smoked fake weed or something. You might want to talk to your neurologist about that.

First of all, weed doesn't even cause memory loss. It's only when you are high for the ~3 hour duration that you experience any of the "negative" effects of marijuana, including SHORT TERM memory loss. For example, you can be getting really into a story, get distracted for 1 second, and then forget what you were talking about for the last ten minutes. Or I have smoked a nice big bowl of some of the best stuff and then forgot whose house I was in and who drove me there for a few minutes.

Secondly, as far as long term memories go, I find that while I'm high, I like to reminisce and I think of all kinds of stuff that happened way back in my life that I had forgotten about.

And last but certainly not least, marijuana GREATLY HELPS epileptics. In case you haven't heard, when put on a medicinal marijuana regime, epileptics experience ZERO seizures. And they make medicinal marijuana these days that is 100% medicine and 0% high, if you don't like being high, or don't want to become a weed "addict." Mothers are finding that the only way to get their kids ( less than 8 year old kids) to stop having seizures is by giving them marijuana.

davesumba, perhaps you might want to put away the exaggerated claims and bring out the honest answer instead?

There is very little scientific data available to show the efficacy of marijuana in reducing the symptoms of epilepsy. There is anecdotal evidence, though, which suggests it may indeed help reduce the frequency of seizures and other symptoms.

That's all anybody can say for certain... For now. None of this "when put on a medical marijuana regime, epileptics experience ZERO seizures." Unless of course you're citing a reliable scientific study I don't know about? In which case, please post a link to the study or a website citing the study in detail :)

You're a complete and utter tool and none of that is true.

  • Well memory loss is a huge side effect from smoking and can effect you forever, but I don't think you strained eyes are from smoking weed.

You've got it backwards. Memory loss doesn't come from smoking weed, but "strained eyes" could. I wouldn't describe it as "strained eyes," but I notice that my eye twitches, or I feel "something" abnormal going on in my eye lid, but it doesn't bother me.

      • Idk I'm not an expert, this is just my personal experience. I've smoked weed for years and me along with everyone I know that smokes have really shitty short term memory, maybe memory loss isn't the word. My eye doesn't twitch. One interesting thing, a friend of mine claims she developed a lisp from years of blazing and others I know claim the same idk how true it is. I hope this made snse I'm kinda stoned

Last time I drank semi-seriously I had a week-long hangover (I'm really not used to it). So yes, it can happen.
