Is it normal want to look and be androgynous?

It happens to the point that people on the street have asked me my gender. I myself somehow do not want to change it to look more "normal". It could be because I'm asexual, but most asexual people still have a male or female identity.
Is this normal?

But, you have to identify as something! What do you usually put down on applications and things like that? What gender do you feel you most relate to?

    • I don't identify with either.
On applications, if there is an "other" option I check that, and if there isn't I alternate between male and female.

Well, if that works for you...!!! Have you ever seen that movie, "It's Pat?" The title character's gender was hard to identify and by the looks of it....he/she didn't have a problem with not identifying with either. That's how I'm picturing you!

        • If that's the movie you mean, then you could not have been more wrong. I am not overweight, do not wear glasses, don't dress like the nerd of nerds, and definitely am not a comedian.
If you want a description of me, then think more like a younger Marilyn Manson, maybe the Mechanical Animals album cover character.

Yes, that's the movie...however, I wasn't talking about direct description, however more of the persona! You and Pat have the gender issue thing in common, and that's why I mentioned that movie!

I don't think it's normal, but then again, I'm living in a country where most of the girls aspire to me tanned, blonde and "sexy" or some stupid shit like that.

I think I saw God one time. He/she was rather androgynous. :)

    • ...You mean God, the one that is supposed to have a really long white beard?...Yeah, I heard he can be hard to tell.

P.s, God is the "father", so there's no "he/she". :)

You sound like me, I do the same thing...With forms I just leave the gender boxes unticked...I don't feel male or female

I'm androgynous. I have very female features, but I dress like most boys and men do because I feel more comfortable that way. I do wear skirts and such too sometimes, if I'm feeling especially feminine that day and decide to show of what little curves I have, but most of the time I wear men's boxers and jeans and a t-shirt. I sometimes think it would be easier to be male, but I wouldn't ever change my gender.

  • I got told I look this way aswell. I don't deny I have female features, but I'm sure I have male ones aswell.

    • Actually, not the first time I get that...
Most of my friends agree that I look quite a bit like him, especially Ziggy Stardust type.
