Is it normal vein/artery pain?

Okay...it started with this, be careful, it's a long read and includes comments: http://m.isitnormal.com/poll/nerve-pinched-or-something-else-is it normal 183057/

My neck pain is almost gone now, except now...well, I'm getting sore veins/arteries. It started with my foot and hand, and now includes right where my heart would be, including to the left. The pain is only affecting the left side of my body...I feel strong pulses in parts affected, including my neck and chest. My heart randomly speeds up too, and in a vein/artery between my left shoulder and armpit (above), it feels almost like blood is rushing there as if being sucked through a slightly dented straw.

What's going on?

I agree, go see a doctor, have them run tests. That sounds like it could be something really serious, perhaps blood clots or other cardiovascular issues.

Watch out for cramps or pain in the chest especially when breathing in, the eyes or head, or the calves. Those are the usual signs of deep vein thrombosis which are fatal blood clots.

If these blood clots break loose they can travel and cause some serious issues like stroke or heart attack. Seriously, go see a doctor.

    • Thank you, I can see a doc within the next couple days. I was getting pains in my chest and head, but nowhere else but my neck. I didn't mention it before, but I'm young at 18, I guess that doesn't matter though, as in it could affect someone of any age?

Cardiovascular issues are rarely seen in someone as young as 18, but it isn't uncommon. It also depends on lifestyle, too.

Are you male or female and are you taking any medications? If you're taking birth control pills, watch out, it could be the cause. I was on the wrong kind of birth control pill once and my blood pressure was sky high and I'm only 19.

If you smoke tabacco, try and quit. It increases your chances of cardiovascular disease by a good few percent.
