Everytime I'm on the bus and a little kid or baby turns around and stares at me, I do one of two things. If the child is adorable I smile at them and maybe wave hi. If the child is....facially challenged, I try to avoid eye contact with him or her or give them a look that says "please turn back around". Is this normal?

I would still smile. Even not so cute kids deserve smiles. But there's very few kids I don't find cute. Except my mum's cousin's oranguta- I mean daughter :-S
It's normal not to like what does not aesthetically please you, but I would hope that you would smile at them anyway.
The reason why many attractive people are more social is because they were treated better as children and the less attractive are more likely to be less social and have lower self esteem due to treatment they get as a child as well (i.e. yours).
Although I do understand why it would be difficult. I once knew two people who looked almost exactly the same and they were both... they were so ugly that in my sick twisted little mind, I thought that the level of ugly they were at warranted to be called a disability. The woman was also... kind of slow. Their kid looks like he is... inbred.
That's my allotment for horrible thoughts that are causing my slow descent to hell for the day.
Why are you so concerned with how young kids look to begin with? That's kind of creepy.
Creepy? Not really. But you do have a good point.
At the olympics in Beijing a little girl was supposed to sing the national anthem. But they ended up only using her voice as a playback for a different girl, because she wasn't cute enough.
And there's this show called "toddlers and tiaras".
Now THAT's fucked up.

I hate kinds in genereal so I don't usually even smile at them. They must be REALLY cute to make me smile. Not like my friend's little brother - he looks like a freakin alien
If beauty was all that matters to succeed the richest men would all have been good looking but it's all the contrary.
Success has nothing to do with beauty. Being beautiful is a 'win' on it's own-in a biological sense.
But then I'm talking to a woman, you'll take a rich ugly man over a hot middle-class guy, amirite?
Though there are hot people who are bums that do nothing but smoke up. Waste of good looks.
Ugly kids normally come from ugly parents. However you do have some kids who were ugly ducklings and grow up to be hot and vice versa.
But I think that's the exception rather than the rule. Just way too many uglies out there, but then they just become background noise to me.
Call me superficial but yes-unless I need something from them like a burger or help finding an item in Walmart. lol
Even though ugly people are an eyesore, at least they can be useful to society.

I know sometimes one can't help but think that way. Throughout history people have thought good looking people were better people. I just hope you have the will to overcome those false preconceptions.
You're probably saying that cause you're ugly. Attractiveness is superior to being unattractive, just as being stronger/faster is better. That's how nature designed things to be.
First of all, I'm not ugly. But it doesen't surprise me that you think I'd had to be just to empathize with them. I'm also a man and I respect women, I'm white and I resbect other ethnicities.
Beauty doesen't make you better, it only makes you better looking. Strength doesen't make you better, it only makes you stronger. You might have it easier in live, but that's all.
If you learn to overlook peoples flaws and like them for what they are, you might get the same in return one day, when your beuaty has faded.
