Tho some states may consider a 17 year old to be a minor, it depends on which state or country you're living in. There isn't much of an age gap between you and him anyways, but just be up on thee up with the state laws so you don't find yourself arrested that's all. Myself I feel there's nothing wrong with it.

anyway, the reason your friends don't understand it and see it as "weird" is because the government has been feeding it's citizens propaganda about how everyone under 18 is somehow not able to understand the risks of sex or are still ignorant 5 year olds who can't think for themselves.

3 years is a very very MINOR age difference. Who cares? Do you really think you true love is going to be the exact same age as you? Even if they are born in the same year is that enough, or does it need to be the same week? I'm sorry. I am not trying to make fun of anyone, but seriously, most ADULT couples are not the same age. Many are are more than 5, 10 or even more years apart. I am 25 and dating a 43 yr old. We have been dating 3 years and have no problem. People make jokes sometimes but most of the time people don't really seem to notice. It is rare that two adults dating are really going to be the same age, and yes, it is true that some people do mature WAY FASTER than others. So, if this is one of those RARE mature 17 yr olds and you really do like him, spend some time with him and ignore what nay-sayers say. (Just watch out for the law lol)

we do not control who we felt love with..so i guess its just normal to follow what you feel..and for you to feel better i had a boyfriend who's 9 years older than me when i was still 14..what could be more questionable than that?

Hey, it's perfectly normal. When you think about it, he's only four years younger than you - it's not like there's a twenty-year age difference. Wait till you're both a bit older, with him in his mid-twenties, maybe, and if he feels the same way about you maybe you could get together. No one's going to notice the age difference once you're both in the same age decade. It's not a big deal. If you love him, there's nothing you can do about it.

To be honest when you are older and when they are older they will be trying to get with younger people. Besides its only 3 years apart most relationships with people have the same gap in age.
