Is it normal to write my wife a letter to be opened 25 years from now

First off, I'm madly in love with my wife and lately i have been inspired to write my wife a letter about my romantic feelings towards her. I don't want her to read this letter until our 30th anniversary. We've only been married for 5 years so how the hell do I pull this off? Can I put this letter in some sort of safe? Do the make time locked safes? Is this cheesy, realistic or too cliche? Do any other guys think about this kind of stuff? Your thoughts.

Great idea. The mushier the better! Include a lock of hair, a picture of your erection and of your flat abs, and anything else you might not have in 25 years.

I don't think it's normal..It is unconventional, really romantic and sweet! So yeah not normal but in a good sense, if you know what I mean ;) Go with it, but also find a way to tell her how much you love her now :)

There is a delivery service that sends mail on 7 year anniversaries, right around that itch. they also have "send if i die" services. google my friend.

  • I like it.

It's a snapshot of how you feel now in this current time as opposed to 25 years from now when it may have evolved (or devolved) into a completely different state.

I think it's sweet. My husband keeps a regular journal and sometimes he reads me passages from years past. In 25 years they will be just as special as they are now.

However I don't think our son will feel quite the same about it when he gets the chance to read some of things my husband writes.

Why not? Hopefully you will still know her name and address after 25 years so that the postman would be able to deliver her the letter:)
    (just joking)

    Seriously:
It sounds nice and especially if the relationship works out fine over the years, it might be interesting for her and you to read it after 25 years.
