Is it normal to worry about your boyfriends text buddy

Ok, here goes. My b/f who I have been seeing a few months has a female text buddy who he sometimes calls up who lives in another country. The other night he told me if he was single he'd go with her and he finds her attractive and she feels the same and if they lived closer shed want to be with him too. He doesn't text her every day anymore, but still several times a week. Should I be worried about this given she is in another country, is it still wrong for him to have this sort of relationship when he's with me? I don't know what the content of there chat is, I suspect there's more than just a friendly chat. When I ask he laughs it off and says she doesn't live near so what's the harm? Am I over reacting or is it still wrong to do this. He has met her for real, made friends with her when he was on hols before he got with me. Btw I personally wouldn't do this, what does others think ? Thanks !

    At first it seemed fine but when I read that the long distance was the only thing keeping them apart I realized it was wrong. You should probably talk to him.

    that's kind of messed up that he would say that if he lived closer to her, he'd be with her rather than you. i'd be really pissed off about that.

    That's terrible! He should definitely not be doing that. If it's only been a few months and he's already texting another girl and telling her how he would be in a real relationship if she lived closer.. imagine what he'd be like in a few years- hello next Tiger Woods. I'd say have a serious talk with him or dump him. Sounds like you could do better! Good luck with it !!

    I agree with the other comments above. It's not right, especially since "distance" is the only thing keeping them from being together. It's almost like he is settling for you since he can't have her at the moment. And I also agree with you on the fact that there's probably a little more than friendly conversation going on. I say you talk to him about it and tell him how you really feel. If he truly likes you then he will drop this fantasy gf of his. If he's not willing to cut ties, then take matters into your own hands and find a guy who isn't tied up on some girl in another country and who will want to only be with you. Good luck!

    So what happens when he meets some other amazing girl that is similar to his friend, and she lives in your town? Don't play second chair to anyone. If you weren't the first pick or you're easily expendable to your mate, it's time to move on.

    Your boyfriend told you he would date another girl? How stupid of him... I think you should dump him, because from what you said it sounds like he would rather be with his text friend and you don't need a douche like him..

    I agree with penguin. Tak to him about it, don't tell him to stop texting her but tell him you suspect something more than friends between them and that it bothers you.
