Is it normal to work two days and not get called back?

is it normal to get a new job, work for two days, then never get called back? i got this job at a pizza shop, was told i would be called, then was never called back. i mean i made some mistakes on the job, but my second day went pretty well. i made it a point to let the boss know this was my first time ever working. the second day he paid me and told me he'd call me...never got the call. when i called him he tried to lie saying he called me a bunch of times.

He doesn't want u anymore, he's just a bastard. I hate these kind of people, they say ok we will call u and they never do. Just give a fake hope... Try to find another job pal... Good luck :)

He didn't want you for the job, so he lied to you to give you false hope. He's a dick and unfortunately they're allot of people like that. Don't give up hope. Hone in your skills and find work elsewhere.

You will find a good job. Don't worry. People can be crude. Keep your confidence and a positive attitude. There are a lot ass holes these days.

This has happened to me a few times before when working in restaurants and customer service. I'd say this is deceitful behavior on the manager/boss's part, but in my past experiences it seems normal for them to do.

In restaurants I've worked in, I've noticed they would take me off the schedule for the next several days (3-5), which I initially thought was strange, until the manager would say they'd call me to tell me when I was working next after those few days. Then they never would.

I think it's a way to let you down easy, albeit in a completely inconsiderate way; because for me I'd rather be fired on the spot or told I didn't make the job and knowing I have to find a new one over thinking I had a job and an income when I didn't.

Sounds like you're not cut out for work. I suggest you run for Congress.
