Is it normal to work out while wearing clothes that are 20 years old?

I frequently work out at a gym near me. Although I am in my mid-30s I still wear some clothing that I wore in high school 20 years ago. I sometimes wear t-shirts I received from 5k races I ran in the early 90s - those shirts have developed noticeable yellow stains around the arm pits. I also frequently wear Zubaz pants or shorts that are from the early 90s. The Zubaz are great for keeping my legs warm while working out, although they do smell like baked ass after a few workout sessions because the material does not "breath."

Is it normal to work out in 20-year old clothing?

I wear clothes i have pissed and shat
in for 20 years or longer everyday.
My favourite pants are mustard yellow from piss at
the front and black and muddy at the back from the decaying turds that are stuck to them. It smells great
at the gym when i work up a sweat - the girls
go crazy for it ! I love the stench and think it looks hot !

You're right! Women think that nothing is sexier than a man confident enough to walk around with yellow piss stains on his workout shorts!!!

I've worn an old, ratty, Jack Daniel's t-shirt that I had in college, beat-up sweats, and a sweatshirt that I paint walls in. It's a mess.

When my hot older sister would do yoga or stretches at home or in her apartment, she'd wear loose-tie sweatpants that drooped below her navel, a thin, barely-there cotton t-shirt, or, if into it, leggings she had from years before. Was so comfy-sexy. Hers, not mine. Mine is just old crappy, and I don't care what I look like when sweating.

I think that's really smart. Save you're money by being thrifty. He didn't say the pants had piss stains, just some armpit stains. That's normal and no reason to stop wearing a nice tshirt. Zubaz look like really comfortable pants.

Why all the "no" votes? Wouldn't it make sense to wear old shitty clothing when you're doing something you know will get them dirty?

I dunno about you guys but when I'm working out I don't worry too much about what I look like. I'm there for exercise, not social time.

  • Why not? I always use old t-shirts at the gym.
