I think it's normal to question the amount of change Obama has promised in relation to the amount of change he's actually enacted, because you'd have to be blind not to, but I don't think he's allowed to make any changes like that to the White House. That's not his personal house, you know?

If he did something silly and frivolous like repainting the White House when there's more important things to worry about, then everyone's going to complain about how he doesn't have his priorities straight. Also, painting it black is like flipping the bird to white America. He didn't move into the white house to poo-poo anyone. I think he'd prefer it if his actions aren't judged based on his skin color.
