i really think my boyfriend is a pedophile, he is 43 years old, and is best friends with a 17 year old boy, and he has told me how he has spent thousands of dollars on this boy and his friends since the boy was 11, and he acts like he is in love with him
Seems a bit strange to me. How does he know this boy? If it's his friends kid it doesn't seem too weird. You should give more details for more accurate feedback.
I wouldn't go as far as calling him a pedo. A pedophile is an sexual act on behalf of an adult towards a prepubescent child. Still sounds pretty messed up so if I were you I'd be looking for red flags and asking questions for sure.

If he is into a 17 year old boy, that is NOT pedophilia. Pedophilia is usually associated with kids younger than 14 or 12.
he lived with the boy and his family back when the 17 year old was about 11 years old, the boy was very troubled and used to kick him and spit at him and worse, my boyfriend says he loves the young man like a son, but I think he is in love with him, because he is jealous of the boy's girlfriend and he also does the boy's laundry, my friend is not rich at all
Um.. you're dating someone you think is a pedophile? You might need to check yourself at the same time…
The behavior you are describing is called "grooming" and should be a huge red flag. Most pedophiles try to gain a child's trust by manipulation so it will be easier to take advantage of them later. Maybe there is another reason he is doing these things, but I seriously doubt it.
