Is it normal to wonder if men want the same thing in life as women?

I would like to know if our desires in life are the same. For instance as a man I want a loving relationship with a certain amount of security knowing that she will not run off with another man, or cheat on me behind my back. I also want financial security and the chance to have a loving family with children. I am a loving person but I wonder if most women want this type of thing too. What do others think

    The thing is no matter what your gender is, people want different things. I'm not saying that people can't want the same thing, but everyone is different.

    I'm certain gender plays a role in this, but it will vary person to person.

    I'm female and I want a lot of things. First on the list is to travel! That's the big one. Also, I want a nice, happy relationship, although I don't like the idea of marriage. I would like kids, maybe my own, I'm not sure (the idea of fostering appeals to me).

    After that, I want to get into the university which is number 1 on my list. I want a stable job, which I enjoy and pays well. I want to live in an apartment. It sounds random, but the thought of living in a house isn't that appealing to me, I want to be in a little cosy box surrounded by other little cosy boxes. I'm weird.

    And if that wasn't unrealistic enough, I really want a Lamborghini D:! They are so ridiculously pretty, and result in a very mesmerised bananaface! I have no intention of learning to drive, but I'm sure that won't be a problem:P!

    Annnnnd, I really want to find out why earphones get tangled up so much! It is my mission in life to work this out:D!

    I have my work cut out for me:D Does that help at all?

      Lambo's are great.

      Your answer hit the nail on the head, maybe gender DOES play a part in it for some, but ultimately, most of us want to be happy and fulfill both our material and intrinsic needs, which are often different from person to person.

      Wow, I've just this minute changed my mind. I like the idea of a house, something which is all mine. I don't know which one I would prefer now:S!

      Another thing I can add to the list is to stop changing my mind so bloody much:P!

    I think everyone wants something different. I'm female but I don't want to have a family because I don't like children. Maybe one day I'll get married, but I just can't see myself with kids. Anyway, I don't think gender has a part in what people want in life. I'm mean, maybe on certain aspects but certainly not for the things you described. It just depends on the person.

    Men would also love to have their own private (willing) sex slave. Women don't seem to be all for that. Its an outrage I tell you. I thought we were all the same!

      Do you mean women don't want to HAVE a sex slave or women don't want to BE a sex slave. Because if you're saying women don't have to HAVE a sex slave, then you must be kidding me.

        I don't think women want a sex slave.
        I mean they could want a toyboy but its not the same as men. I mean men would tie them up! A woman would just watch her sex slave cleaning the pool.
        Obviously there are exceptions. I'm just generalizing.

          Please! Are you out of your mind?! If it were up to me, I'd have a Gerard Way look alike at the bottom of my basement, chained to a wall, forced to eat no more than left overs and sleep on a little blanket where I would come down to the basement every night to fulfill my sexual needs ;) ...Don't want a sex slave my ass! I don't know where you got that idea!
