DNA is the memory "encoded" into every living cell that tells it what it is and what to do. The DNA could contain information that tells a cell to bond with other cells to make a specific tissue such as a muscle etc.

Where the first living cell came from is still a mystery. Some theories speculate that a lightning strike created carbon, sulphur, and phosphorus which are the building blocks for all life on earth. There are many other theories, all of which are also simply speculation.

So to answer your question, Echoes, no one really knows where DNA came from.
